What is my mavette shoe size?

You can estimate your size based on your current US shoe size, or measure your foot for a more accurate fit. Mavette's sizing is based on European size intervals which are smaller than US size intervals providing a better fit. We offer three widths (narrow, medium and wide) giving even more fit accuracy increasing comfort and wearability.

How do I know if my shoes fit?

First, try your shoes on a clean surface such as a carpet or towel. We recommend that you try your shoes on at the end of the day when your feet are at their largest.

Check for gaps anywhere. Mavette's are made of genuine Italian leathers and suedes and will stretch and mold to your feet with each wear. Your shoes should fit snugly but should not be overly tight. If your shoes fit loosely, your muscles will need to work overtime to keep your feet in your shoes.

Next check your heel placement. The heel of the shoe should be directly under your own heel. Too far forward or back will throw off your balance as well as decrease the effectiveness of the 360° Comfort Technology in your shoes.

Wiggle your foot back and forth whilst digging the heel into the ground. The heel should be firm and have no give at all. There should not be much wiggle room for your toes but your toes should not be squashed.

Last, try taking a few steps. Your heel should not lift up out of the shoe but remain properly positioned in the heel cup.

Will my shoes stretch?

Our shoes are made with premium Italian leather and suedes and hand sewn for maximum comfort and style. The leather will stretch molding to the width of your foot but will remain the same length. Slight pressure on the ball of your foot is normal, but pinching or cramping of the toes is a key sign of the wrong size.

My feet are different sizes. What should I do?

This is very common. In fact over 60% of people have two different sized feet.

At Mavette, we are fit obsessed and happy to do a free custom fitting to find the best fit for your right and left foot individually. After your fitting, you can custom order any pair Mavettes fit to you.

Why is my size only available as "made to order"?

At Mavette, we make available many more sizes and widths than a typical shoe company in order to give you the best fit possible. Great fit combined with our patent pending 360° Comfort Technology is what makes our shoes so special.

In order to provide this range of sizes and widths while keeping costs down, many of our speciality sizes are made to order. When you wait for your shoes, it means we can cut back on waste keeping our landfills free of shoes no one wants. This not only is better for the environment but also cuts our costs allowing us to pass the savings on to you.

As the saying goes, good things take time. In our world of instant gratification, we think you'll find that a pair of handcrafted Mavettes are worth the wait.

How long does it take to make a "made to order" item?

Items that are made to order usually take around 8-12 weeks for delivery. As Mavette's business scales, we continuously work to minimize delivery times for all of our items.

The item I'm interested in says "Pre-Order". What does that mean?

Items on Pre-Order are brand new to our line and about to go into production. We release these items in advance to give you the opportunity to add to our production and ensure you get a pair before we open our stock to the public. It also ensures you get your desired size.



Mavette offers free US shipping for all shoes. Deliveries are sent via FEDEX, UPS or USPS depending on state of delivery. We do not currently offer International shipping.

How long will it take for my order to arrive?

Orders for In-Stock items usually process within 48 business hours from the date they are placed. Orders placed within the United States can expect delivery within 7-10 business days. Shipping can vary depending on where you’re located.

Made to Order, Pre-Order, and Custom fit shoes usually take between 8-12 weeks to manufacture and ship.

Shipping time does not count towards the 14 day return policy.

What do I do if my shoes arrive damaged?

If your shoes arrive damaged or defected, please contact Mavette Client Assistance for further instructions. All items marked “Final Sale” or “As Is” cannot be returned or exchanged.


What is your return policy?

You have 14 days from delivery to return your items. Shoes must be unworn, in original packaging including all accessories and returned with original plastic covering on the outsole of the shoe showing no signs of wear. We recommend trying your shoes on indoors and on a carpeted surface or towel to avoid accidental damage or wear & tear. Unfortunately, we cannot offer a refund or exchange for shoes with any signs of wear.

Orders From Stock, Made to Order, & Pre-Orders
After you've completed a return request, we'll email you a return label. Please note that Mavette is not responsible for any returned packages that are shipped without the provided return label. Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. Your refund will be processed, and a credit less the cost for return shipping will automatically be applied to your original method of payment within 15-30 days.

Custom Orders
Due to the customization of the shoes, we are unable to provide full refunds. However, we’re happy to offer a partial refund. Mavette will retain a manufacturing fee of $180 for heels and $125 for flats. Please submit a return request within 14 days of receiving your shoes. We’ll take care of processing your refund as soon as your shoes are received in original condition.

Shoes must be unworn, in original packaging including all accessories and returned with original plastic covering on the outsole of the shoe showing no signs of wear. Once submitted, a customer service representative will contact you with a prepaid shipping label within one (1) business day. Our client assistance team will review any questions you may have about the fit and provide consultation before placing the exchange order. Limit one (1) free exchange per order and subject to availability.
